For example, it may symbolize a confession, repentance, a psychotherapy session, a heart-to-heart chat with a friend, a shower (as a cleansing of negative physical states).

The defining feature of the Seven of Cups – getting rid of "unnecessary" emotional baggage.

The Seven of Cups (getting rid of "wrong" emotions) is closely related to a reversed Ten of Cups (regret, remorse, "negative" transformation of feelings). Often, in fact, they are mutually interconnected. Therefore, it's easy to confuse a Seven of Cups with a reversed Ten of Cups.

But these are different cards. Both in terms of sign as well as numerical value. To distinguish between them, you should always look at the sign of the card.

Regret, remorse, guilt, shame are, first and foremost, a "reversed", "negative" numerical value. And only after that does the actual cause of the psychic transformation (that is, the Ten) follow.

Eight of Cups

"Eights", according to the Kabbalah, are form + form, stability, constancy.

Cups are emotions, feelings, and memories.

Thus, the Eight of Cups represents something stable, resilient, and constant, a formation of emotions, feelings, and memories.

It may symbolize stable feelings, emotions, memories. Such as, for instance: confidence, equanimity, loyalty, tranquility.

In the sphere of memories and remembering, the Eight of Cups may be a stable, enduring memory. Such as, for instance, your ability to recall your own name and place of residence.

One of the most striking examples of the Eight of Cups is the story of the Japanese dog named Hachikō. Please note that the dog's name is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the number "8".²²⁶

Nine of Cups

A female nymphomaniac comes to the police:

The Nine of Cups, therefore, is completeness, perfection of feelings, emotions, memories.

For example, any positive feeling or emotion manifested to an extreme: delight, ecstasy, rapture, adoration, etc.

Moreover, due to the intensity of its manifestation, the Nine of Cups often triggers the manifestation of the One or the Five of Cups. Just like lightning in the sky provokes a clap of thunder and a fire. Although one accompanies the other – these are different events and cards.

With regard to memories, the Nine of Cups resembles a certain, often illusory, ideal of perception.

For instance, certain lines from A.S. Pushkin's poem "I remember a wonderful moment …" ²³⁴vividly illustrate the Nine of Cups.
