I decided to read abridged version because I wasn’t sure in my strength to read the whole novel. Despite having read the novel in Russian I enjoyed it so much. Of course, a lot of details are cut off and this abridged version resembles the film. It seems that an author made the adaptation was guided by the film. For example, Scarlett doesn’t have a first and second child. But if you have only 300 pages to fit the whole novel, that is great work. By the way, there is a decent dictionary at the end, where you can find phrasal verbs except for words. In my opinion, it is perfectly adapted for B2, there are a plenty of idioms in the book, which are crucial for achieving the next level of English.
I recommend this version especially for those who have already read “Gone with the wind” in Russian, but want to refresh their memory or just another time to enjoy their favourite book (it is exactly my case).
Thanks for reading! Have a nice day and enjoy a book!
